NINTENDO OF AMERICA Nintendogs: Lab & Friends for Nintendo DS . Adopt a virtual puppy, teach him new tricks, compete in dog shows, and even play with other dogs in NINTENDOGS.

Nintendo’s NINTENDOGS for the Nintendo DS is based on the concept of the tomodachi virtual pet, but it goes way beyond it. In NINTENDOGS, players adopt a cute virtual puppy and then take on the task of raising, training, and playing with it. Players begin at the Nintendog Kennel, where they must sel which of the cute puppies to take home. There are 18 different breeds available, although only specific breeds are available at first. Each puppy has its own personality, which will influence everything from how playful it is to how easy it will be to train. Once players have their dog, they can name it and, using the DS microphone, teach it to recognize its name when spoken. Players can then begin training their dog by also saying commands like sit until the dog learns. Once players teach their dog some new tricks, they can enter it in a dog show to earn prize money, trophies, and increase their training level. Players can also take their dogs on walks, buy new toys and treats, and give it a bath. While the single-player mode is fun, the real thrill of NINTENDOGS is its multiplayer mode. When another NINTENDOG player comes within range, the puppy barks, and players can then allow their dog to bring its new friend onto the screen to play. NINTENDOGS is a relaxing game with no time limits or boss fights, and it’s the perfect way for dog lovers to spend an afternoon.
